Physical rehabilitation is a structured healing process designed to restore movement, function, and strength after injury, illness, or surgery. At its core, it combines physical therapy techniques with therapeutic exercises to help patients regain independence and prevent future injuries.
Modern physical rehabilitation has its roots in early 20th-century wartime medicine, where injured soldiers required functional recovery beyond basic wound care. Over the decades, physical therapy evolved through advances in biomechanics, kinesiology, and rehabilitation science, becoming a core part of post-surgical care, chronic pain management, and athletic recovery. Today, it's an essential part of integrative healthcare, used to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions such as:
Rehabilitation is backed by neuroplasticity, muscle physiology, and motor control research. When you engage in guided, repetitive therapeutic movements, your brain and body create new neuromuscular pathways, helping you retrain proper function. Load-based exercises stimulate tissue regeneration and improve circulation, while proper progression and rest allow for safe, steady recovery. Progress is continuously measured and adjusted to ensure you build endurance, mobility, and strength over time—without overstressing the body.
Physical rehabilitation begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your mobility, strength, flexibility, and pain levels. Then, a customized treatment plan is developed to match your goals—whether you're recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or rebuilding after an injury.
By combining hands-on therapies and targeted movement, physical rehab helps patients get stronger, move better, and feel more in control of their recovery. Want to know if physical therapy and therapeutic exercises are right for you? Schedule an assessment!
Dr. Aaron is amazing!!! I was having issues with vertigo, arthritis in my neck and was feeling very tight through my back and neck. He has made me feel better than I have felt in 25 years. He gives me exercises to help maintain my adjustments and always has good advice. He is so great, I recommended my husband see him as well for his back and hip issues. I highly recommended Bynum Chiropractic and Dr. Aaron. *

In the past 10 years I've looked for diffident solutions to my lower back pain. Some chiropractors were great and I stayed with them a long time. But I got to a point where once a year or so my back would go out completely where I could not walk or sit or stand. So I tried PT and other therapies that would help to one degree or another. However, no one could pinpoint the root of the issue. Then, I was referred to Dr. Bynum when my back went completely out and within a few minutes he knew exactly what was going on. The adjustments helped in the short term and the long term. I have been going to him on a regular basis for years now and have yet to have my back go out or even come close. Dr. Bynum is a master of his craft and can't recommend him enough. He trains his staff at a high level, so if he is not available I can see another chiropractor and get the same fantastic results. Office staff is friendly and helpful. Scheduling app helps me make appointments that fit my schedule with ease. This is the only chiropractic office I recommend! *

About 10 days ago I felt a pop under my armpit and sharp pain. I was referred to Dr Bynum who diagnosed a rib out of place. On the first visit felt better, the next day on visit 2 we both felt and heard the rib pop back in, on the 3rd visit we felt it pop in and I have felt 1000% better since. Highly recommend Dr Bynum!!! *

I've been coming for 5 months now, and have seen a real transformation in my body. When I came in I had such bad lower back pain I could barely breathe and stand up straight. DR. Aaron has a wealth of knowledge and techniques. I swear his adjustments have helped me to lose weight. He really listens to what the body is saying it needs help with. I am always greated by name from the wonderful ladies at the front desk and always feel welcome when I come. I will be continuing to see them even after my back is healed. And have been recommending them to everyone I know. *

Dr. Bynum is a miracle worker! I came in with pain in my hands, wrists, neck, and feet thanks to working a desk job for 60+ hours week for years. Within a month, I was completely pain free, and now we focus on maintenance and posture improvement. Dr. Bynum is exceptionally knowledgeable and personable, and his staff is always courteous and takes the time to get to know you while still getting you in and out as efficiently as possible. His office location and hours are also really convenient for working in the Addison/North Dallas area. I am reposting this on every review site I can find so people can find out about Dr. Bynum. If you are looking for a chiropractor, look no further - he is seriously the best! *
